Level Up
LevelUP offers flexible, online micro-credentials designed for professional growth in research administration. Through engaging modules and mGuides covering key areas like pre-award, post-award, and compliance, professionals can enhance expertise and earn credentials at their own pace. Overseen by the LevelUP Micro-credential Council, the program ensures quality and provides relevant, accessible training for career advancement.
The Level Up program is available free to staff at Rice who have either completed their probationary period, or STARS training (whichever comes first).
Access and Use Conditions
To request access to LevelUP, please contact Research & Cost Accounting. Your name, netID (user ID not vanity ID), and your line manager's e-mail address need to be included in the request. Line managers will be informed when a new user signs up.
Line managers should be advised that no user work-hours time limit restriction can be applied by the system itself. Individuals are encouraged to engage with their line manager to determine what is appropriate on a case by case basis.
Research Management Specialist Certificate
The Research Management Specialist (RMS) Certificate, earned through SRAI's LevelUP program, validates expertise in core research administration areas like pre-award, post-award, and compliance. By completing online modules and mGuides, professionals demonstrate mastery of essential knowledge and critical thinking skills, showcasing their commitment to professional development and excellence in the field.
SRAI fees relating to RMS certification are paid by Rice for all participating Rice staff.
Certification Requirements
- Achieve a total of 39 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the completion of carefully curated courses.
- Develop a compelling case study, demonstrating practical application of your knowledge
- Fulfill the requirements in three years.
